Well, I thought the water shot would be pretty easy, but the ocean hasn't been so photogenic, and it hasn't been dumping rain lately, sort of just drizzling. However, I was in Waikiki and saw this fake waterfall at the Hyatt. I took a few shots from a different angle, but this one seemed to work the best, framing it using whatever was around.

Once again, I'm super late in posting my photo. I took this night shot on my recent Vegas trip. It's from the top level of a shopping center parking garage, which I realized, provides a pretty snazzy view of the part of the Strip.

Anyways, I was planning on uploading one very similar to Matt's Picasso vendor, but I thought I'd mix it up. This steel drummer played outside the International Market Place in Waikiki, and his shirt lit up like the bars on an audio monitor. (I just tried Googling it, but I came up with nothing. So if you someone can educate my ignorance of musical and audio devices, it'd be much appreciated.) I found this guy the most legitimately entertaining street performer on the block, so I gave him a dollar for dealing with the constant shutter clicks.

Matt's Night Shot

I know we've all been busy and missed the deadline (worst journalists' ever!), but that doesn't mean we should give up!

I grabbed this shot on a field trip into Waikiki with Tiff and Jason. I can't imagine a street vendor more out of place than this one, especially since the majority of them are further down the street in the International Market Place.

Night Shot! (Challenge No. 7)

Hello Everyone! Our next photo assignment will capture nocturnal splendors. It doesn't matter what the photo is of—it could be a feral cat with glowing eyes or a drunk guy in Chinatown—the only requirement is that it is taken after the sun goes down. Sorry guys, this photo is quite late. But I am posting one today nonetheless! I took this one at the KCC Farmer's Market. This might not be what you could call a traditional line shot, but the linear quality of the veggie stalks caught my eye. Maybe you'll agree...

Tiffany's Circles

I took this photo during the Spam Jam (which was quite delicious by the way). I found this shot while walking through the International Market Place. A man was trying to sell these colorful, spinning wind chimes to tourists as they meandered by.

I found this one by accidentally taking a shot while checking my lens for smudges. I looked up to see what I had shot, and saw the only beautiful part of the legislature: the ceiling. It opens up to the sky with some awesome lines that draw your eye into the clouds.

Photo Challenge #5, Lines

Hey all,

Wow, our little project is coming along really well. I'm glad to see we're all so motivated to use our cameras more.

This week's challenge is a two-parter:

1) Focus on finding lines for your shot this week. Windows on a building, grout in tiles or whatever strikes you as a good representation of lines. Also, see if you can incorporate anything from our past challenges into these photos, like texture and color.

2) Sign up to follow our blog. It would be kinda cool to build up a following for our blog, plus we would know when someone posted a shot.

Don't forget to put your photo info with your shots, too (ISO, f-stop, etc.), and keep commenting on each others photos. This is the only way we're going to get better at shooting!
